Lingual tonsillitis
Lingual tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tongue and tonsils. Clinically, it is divided into acute and chronic types, with the main symptoms being sore throat, fever, and discomfort in the throat. This disease can cause local or systemic complications such as the ears, nose, heart, kidneys, and joints, so it should be taken seriously. The pathogens of lingual tonsillitis are mainly hemolytic streptococci, and others such as staphylococci, pneumococci, influenza bacilli, and viruses can also cause it.
