Pick's disease
Pick’s disease is a rare, slowly progressive cognitive and behavioral disorder. Pick (1892) first described a group of patients with frontotemporal lobe atrophy as pathological features, manifested by abnormal behavior, aphasia, and cognitive impairment. The first case he reported was a 71-year-old male with progressive mental decline and severe aphasia. The autopsy revealed severe atrophy of the left temporal cortex; the four cases reported later particularly emphasized that the patients had progressive language disorders.
