Alcoholic cardiomyopathy
Long-term heavy drinking can lead to myocardial disease, which is similar to dilated cardiomyopathy, and is called alcoholic cardiomyopathy (ACM). In 1995, the World Health Organization and the International Federation of Cardiology Societies (WHO/ISFC) Working Group Expert Committee's report on the definition and classification of cardiomyopathy listed alcoholic cardiomyopathy as a cardiomyopathy caused by allergic and toxic reactions among specific cardiomyopathies. The condition can be relieved or cured by itself after quitting drinking. This disease is more common in adult men. The incidence rate in my country has been increasing in recent years.
