Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia is a severe diffuse thrombotic microangiopathy characterized by microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, consumptive reduction of platelet aggregation, and organ damage (such as kidneys and central nervous system) caused by microthrombosis. It is a hemolytic anemia syndrome caused by red blood cell fragmentation caused by microvascular disease.
