Keloid
Keloid is a result of the collagen synthesis and metabolism function losing its normal restraint and control during the healing process of skin injury, and remaining in a hyperactive state, resulting in excessive proliferation of collagen fibers. It is also called connective tissue hyperplasia and is called keloid or giant scar disease in traditional Chinese medicine. It manifests as a benign mass that protrudes from the normal skin, has different shapes, is red in color, and has a hard texture.
