Human herpes virus-6 infection
Human herpes virus-6 (HHV-6) was first isolated from peripheral blood lymphocytes of patients with lymphoproliferative diseases and AIDS by Salahnddin and Csvlo of the National Cancer Institute of the United States in 1986. The virus mainly infects human T cells and is similar to herpes virus in morphology and biology, so it was named human herpes virus-6 (HHV-6).
