Sciatic hernia
Sciatic hernia refers to the protrusion of abdominal organs or tissues through the greater or lesser sciatic foramen. It is also called gluteal hernia or ischiatic hernia. Sciatic hernia is extremely rare in clinical practice and mostly occurs in women after middle age, especially women who have given birth. Although it can occur in men, it is much rarer. The herniation route is mostly through the greater sciatic foramen.
