Hereditary spastic paraplegia in children
Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP), also known as familial spastic paraplegia (FSP), is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by chronic progressive spastic paraplegia and weakness. Clinically, it can be divided into simple HSP and complex HSP: complex HSP has visual impairment or ataxia in addition to spastic paralysis of both lower limbs; simple HSP, also known as Stumpell familial spastic paraplegia, is limited to spastic paralysis of both lower limbs.
