Superficial acute lymphadenitis and lymphangitis
Lymphadenitis and lymphangitis are acute suppurative infections caused by pathogens invading the lymphatic flow, which can occur in any part of the human body. Superficial acute lymphadenitis mostly occurs in the neck, armpits and groin, and sometimes in the inner elbow or popliteal fossa. The bacteria invade the lymphatic space through the damaged skin, and then cause acute suppurative inflammatory lesions in the lymph nodes, lymphatic vessels and their surrounding areas. The lymph nodes at the infected site are swollen, and red cord-like lines appear, which may be accompanied by systemic discomfort. If its development is not controlled in time, multi-cavity abscesses may form.
