Cefuroxil is a first-generation oral cephalosporin with good antibacterial effect on most strains of penicillinase-producing and non-penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative Staphylococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, group A hemolytic Streptococcus, etc. It also has certain antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Shigella, Haemophilus influenzae, and gonococci. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococci, Enterococci, indole-positive Proteus, Enterobacter, Serratia and other Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacteroides fragilis are resistant to this product.

It can reduce myocardial oxygen consumption by dilating peripheral blood vessels, especially increasing venous blood volume, reducing reflux, and lowering cardiac anterior and posterior loads; it can also improve blood supply to the ischemic area by promoting redistribution of myocardial blood flow, and may exert its anti-myocardial ischemia effect through these two aspects.

This product is a long-acting non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It can inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase and reduce the synthesis of prostaglandins. Animal experiments show that the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of this product are weaker than indomethacin, but stronger than aspirin.
