This product is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It has high antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and other Enterobacteriaceae, Haemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, etc. It also has good antibacterial effects on nitrate-negative bacilli, Alcaligenes, etc. Most beta-lactamases produced by bacteria are highly stable, so it can still have antibacterial activity against multi-drug resistant strains of the vast majority of Gram-negative bacilli mentioned above. Gram-positive cocci such as pneumococci and hemolytic streptococci are highly sensitive to this product, but this product has only moderate activity against staphylococci, while enterococci and methicillin-resistant Staphylococci are often resistant to this product. This product has certain antibacterial activity against anaerobic bacteria such as Peptococcus and Peptostreptococci, but has poor antibacterial effect against Bacteroides fragilis. Its mechanism of action is to bind to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on the bacterial cell membrane, acylate the transpeptidase, inhibit the synthesis of the bacterial septum and cell wall, affect the cross-linking of the cell wall mucopeptide components, inhibit cell division and growth, elongate the bacterial morphology, and finally dissolve and die.

This product is a first-generation cephalosporin, which has good antibacterial effect on some strains of Gram-positive cocci such as non-penicillinase-producing and penicillinase-producing Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative Staphylococci, group A hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae and viridans streptococci. Anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria are mostly sensitive to this product, while Bacteroides fragilis is resistant to it. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococci and Enterococci are resistant to this product. The effect of this product on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria is similar to that of cephalexin. This product has a certain effect on gonococci and is also active against enzyme-producing gonococci; its activity against Haemophilus influenzae is poor.

| Procaine penicillin G |
It exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It has good antibacterial activity against Streptococci such as hemolytic Streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococci that do not produce penicillinase. It is sensitive to Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis, Streptobacillus moniliformis, Listeria monocytogenes, Leptospira and Treponema pallidum. It also has antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Bordetella pertussis. It has good antibacterial effect on anaerobic bacteria such as Clostridium, Streptococcus and melanin-producing Bacteroides, but has poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis.
