This product is a semi-synthetic penicillin antibiotic. It has antibacterial effects on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus, Enterobacter, Citrobacter, Serratia, Acinetobacter, and Gram-positive cocci sensitive to penicillin. It has a bactericidal effect in large doses. Its antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Enterobacter, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Citrobacter, Serratia, and Acinetobacter is stronger than carbenicillin and ampicillin; its antibacterial activity against indole-positive Proteus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is stronger than carbenicillin and sulbenicillin; its antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus is similar to that of carbenicillin, and its antibacterial activity against Streptococcus faecalis is superior to that of carbenicillin and sulbenicillin. It has good antibacterial effect against most anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis.

Broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics, when used in combination with potassium clavulanate, can be protected from hydrolysis by β-lactamases. It has a good effect on enzyme-producing Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, coagulase-negative Staphylococci and enterococci. It also has good antibacterial activity against certain β-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Bacteroides fragilis, etc.

It has only weak antibacterial activity itself, but has a strong broad-spectrum β-lactamase inhibitory effect, which can protect amoxicillin from β-lactamase hydrolysis.

This product is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial drug with a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, especially high antibacterial activity against aerobic Gram-negative bacteria. It acts on the A subunit of bacterial DNA helicase, inhibiting DNA synthesis and replication, leading to bacterial death. It has effects on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Bacteria are not easy to develop resistance to this product, and there is no cross-resistance between similar drugs and antibiotics.

Ampicillin sodium is a broad-spectrum semi-synthetic penicillin. This product has a strong antibacterial effect on hemolytic streptococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae and non-penicillinase-producing Staphylococci, which is similar to or slightly inferior to penicillin. Ampicillin also has a good antibacterial effect on viridans streptococci, and is better than penicillin on enterococci and Listeria. This product has antibacterial activity against Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Neisseria and anaerobic bacteria except Bacteroides fragilis. Some Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Shigella are sensitive to this product. Ampicillin exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
