This product is a calcium metabolism regulator. Calcitonin is a polypeptide hormone secreted by thyroid cells. It has the function of inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts, thereby inhibiting the dissolution of bone salts and preventing calcium from being released from bones. Indication

1. Early and late postmenopausal osteoporosis and senile osteoporosis where conventional estrogen combined with calcium preparations is contraindicated or cannot be used for treatment; 2. Hypercalcemia caused by bone metastasis of breast cancer, lung cancer or kidney cancer, myeloma and other malignant tumors; 3. Osteitis deformans.

Usage and Dosage

Subcutaneous or intramuscular injection, medication should be used under the guidance of a doctor. Osteoporosis: once a day, depending on the severity of the disease, 50~100IU each time or 100IU every other day. To prevent progressive bone loss, calcium and vitamin D should be taken in appropriate amounts according to individual needs. Hypercalcemia: 5~10IU per kilogram of body weight per day, once or twice subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Treatment should be adjusted according to the patient's clinical and biochemical response. If the injection dose exceeds 2ml, multiple injections should be taken. Osteitis deformans: 100IU daily or every other day.

Adverse Reactions

1. Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, mild facial flushing with fever may occur. These adverse reactions are dose-related and are more common with intravenous injection than with intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. 2. Rare polyuria and chills have been reported. In rare cases, administration of this product can lead to allergic reactions, including local reactions at the injection site or systemic skin reactions. Individual allergic reactions have been reported to cause tachycardia, hypotension, and collapse.

Precautions

1. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to calcitonin; 2. It is contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women.

Special Population Medication

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using.

Drug Interactions

1Antacids and cathartics often contain calcium or other metal ions such as magnesium and iron, which may affect the absorption of this drug. 2Combination with aminoglycosides may induce hypocalcemia.
