Function and Efficacy

This product has the effect of antiprotozoa and obligate anaerobic bacteria. It has inhibitory effects on protozoa such as Trichomonas vaginalis, Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia. This product has antibacterial effects on most anaerobic bacteria such as Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides melanin, other Bacteroides, Clostridium, Eubacteria, Fusobacterium, Haemophilus vaginalis, Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus and Veillonella.

The main ingredient of this product is tinidazole, chemical name: 1-[2-(ethylsulfonyl)ethyl]-2-methylimidazole.

Indication

1. Used for various anaerobic infections, such as sepsis, osteomyelitis, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, lung and bronchial infection, sinusitis, skin cellulitis, oral infection and postoperative wound infection. 2. Used for preoperative preventive medication in colorectal surgery, gynecological surgery and oral surgery.

Usage and Dosage

1. Prevention of postoperative infection caused by anaerobic bacteria: total amount 1.6g, divided into one or two slow intravenous drips, the first drip 2-4 hours before surgery, the second drip during surgery or 12-24 hours after surgery. 2. Treatment of infection caused by anaerobic bacteria: slow intravenous drip, once a day, 0.8g each time, for 5-6 days. When a certain type of infection makes it difficult for the patient to recover, the course of treatment can be determined according to the clinical situation.

Adverse Reactions

Adverse reactions are rare and mild, mainly nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, loss of appetite and metallic taste in the mouth, headache, dizziness, itchy skin, rash, constipation and general discomfort. In addition, there may be angioedema, neutropenia, disulfiram-like reaction and dark urine, and occasionally mild phlebitis at the infusion site. High doses can also cause epileptic seizures and peripheral neuropathy.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or azole drugs and those with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases.

Drug Interactions

1 This product can inhibit the metabolism of warfarin and other oral anticoagulants, enhance their effects, and cause target=_blank prothrombin time to be prolonged. 2 When used in combination with drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes such as target=_blank phenytoin sodium and phenobarbital, it can accelerate the metabolism of this product, reduce blood drug concentration, and slow down the excretion of target=_blank phenytoin sodium. 3 When used in combination with drugs that inhibit liver microsomal enzyme activity such as cimetidine, it can slow down the metabolism and excretion of this product in the liver, prolong the blood elimination half-life (t1/2b) of this product, and the dosage should be adjusted according to the results of blood drug concentration determination. 4 This product interferes with the metabolism of disulfiram. When the two are used together, patients may experience mental symptoms after drinking. Therefore, patients who have used disulfiram within 2 weeks should not use this product again. 5 This product can interfere with the determination results of serum aminotransferase and lactate dehydrogenase, and can reduce the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.

Storage

Keep away from light and sealed in a cool place. Validity period: two years.
