Nicotinic Acid Injection
Function and Efficacy
This product is a vitamin drug. During tissue respiration, niacin acts as a coenzyme in a variety of enzymes that catalyze important redox reactions. It can be reduced as a receptor for oxygen ions removed from the matrix, and then reoxidized by flavin protein to restore to its original state. Niacin has the effects of dilating blood vessels, lowering blood lipids, reducing cholesterol synthesis, dissolving fibrin, and preventing thrombosis.
Indication
1. Used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin PP deficiency. 2. Dilate small blood vessels. Niacin can relieve vasospasm symptoms and improve local blood supply. 3. Ischemic heart disease. Niacin is used to treat myocardial infarction and angina pectoris, and the angina pectoris symptoms of most patients are relieved. 4. Lower blood lipids. Using large doses of niacin can lower blood lipids.
Usage and Dosage
For adults, 50mg-100mg intramuscularly, 5 times a day; for children, 25-100mg intravenously, 2 times a day.
Adverse Reactions
Common symptoms include redness and itching of the skin. Some patients may experience gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and aggravation of ulcers. Occasionally, urticaria, formic pruritus, and mild liver damage may be seen.
Drug Interactions
It can aggravate the effects of antihypertensive drugs and phenothiazine derivatives and inactivate fibrinase. Combination with adrenal blockers can cause postural hypotension.
