Function and Efficacy

This product has the function of inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. In vitro tests show that it has good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, various groups of streptococci, pneumococci, and some Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus mirabilis, and influenza bacilli. This product is stable to the penicillinase produced by Staphylococcus aureus, so it also has a good antibacterial effect on penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

Ingredients

The main ingredient of this product is cephalexin, and its chemical name is (6R,7R)-3-methyl-7-[(R)-2-amino-2-phenylacetylamino]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid monohydrate.

Appearance

This product is a capsule, and the contents are white or off-white granules or powder.

Indication

It is suitable for acute tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections and skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria. This product is an oral preparation and should not be used for severe infections.

Usage and Dosage

Oral: For adults and children weighing more than 20 kg, the usual dosage is 1-2 g per day, taken orally twice a day after breakfast and dinner. For children weighing less than 20 kg, take 40-60 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, taken orally twice a day after breakfast and dinner. Or follow the doctor's advice.

Adverse Reactions

Occasionally, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, soft stools, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and stomach discomfort may occur.

Precautions

It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to cephalosporins or have a history of anaphylactic shock or immediate reaction to penicillin.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: This experiment has not been conducted and there are no reliable references. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product crosses the placenta, so pregnant women should use it with caution; this product can also be excreted through breast milk. Although there are no reports of problems with the use of cephalosporins in lactating women, it is still necessary to weigh the pros and cons before using it. Drug Interactions

1. When combined with cholestyramine (cholestyramine), the average blood concentration of cephalexin can be reduced. 2. Probenecid can delay the renal excretion of this product, and there are also reports that probenecid can increase the excretion of this product in bile.
