This product belongs to the piperazine phenothiazine. Its antipsychotic effect is mainly related to its blocking of dopamine receptors (DA2) in the brain, inhibiting the ascending activation system of the reticular formation and having a sedative effect. Its antiemetic and blood pressure lowering effects are weaker.

Appearance

This product is a sugar-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the sugar coating.

Indication

It is used for various types of schizophrenia, has an uplifting and activating effect, and is suitable for simple, catatonic and chronic schizophrenia, relieving symptoms such as emotional indifference and behavioral withdrawal.

Usage and Dosage

Start with a small oral dose, 2 mg each time, 2 to 3 times a day, and gradually increase to 10 to 20 mg a day, with the highest dose not exceeding 30 mg a day.

Adverse Reactions

1. Mainly extrapyramidal reactions, such as: tremor, rigidity, drooling, bradykinesia, akathisia, acute dystonia, etc. Long-term and large-scale medication can cause tardive dyskinesia. 2. It can cause an increase in plasma prolactin concentration, and possible related symptoms are: galactorrhea, gynecomastia, menstrual disorders, amenorrhea. Dry mouth, blurred vision, fatigue, dizziness, tachycardia, constipation, sweating, etc. may occur. 3. Rare adverse reactions include postural hypotension, neutropenia and toxic liver damage. Allergic rash and malignant syndrome are occasionally seen.

Precautions

Patients with basal ganglia lesions, Parkinson's disease, Parkinson's syndrome, bone marrow suppression, glaucoma, coma and allergy to phenothiazines.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Children under 6 years old are prohibited to use. Children over 6 years old should reduce the dosage as appropriate. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women should use with caution. Lactating women should stop breastfeeding while using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Start with a small dose. Reduce the dosage as appropriate depending on the condition to reduce the occurrence of extrapyramidal reactions and tardive dyskinesia.

Drug Interactions

1. When this product is used in combination with ethanol or central nervous system depressants, especially with inhaled general anesthetics or intravenous general anesthetics such as barbiturates, they can enhance each other's effect. 2. When this product is used in combination with amphetamines, the effect of the latter can be weakened due to the α-adrenaline receptor blocking effect of phenothiazines. 3. When this product is used in combination with antacids or antidiarrheal drugs, oral absorption can be reduced. 4. When this product is used in combination with anticonvulsants, it cannot enhance the effect of anticonvulsants. 5. When this product is used in combination with anticholinergics, the effects of each other are enhanced. 6. When this product is used in combination with epinephrine, the α receptor effect of epinephrine is blocked, and only the β receptor effect is shown, which can lead to obvious hypotension and tachycardia. 7. When this product is used in combination with guanethidine drugs, the latter's antihypertensive effect can be offset. 8. When this product is used in combination with levodopa, the latter can inhibit the anti-parkinsonian effect of the former. 9. When this product is used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants, the anticholinergic effects of the two can enhance and prolong each other.
