Labetalol Hydrochloride Tablets

A drug that blocks both alpha and beta receptors. It has weak intrinsic activity and membrane stabilizing effects. The effect of blocking beta receptors is 4-8 times that of blocking alpha receptors; the effect of blocking beta 1 receptors is 1/4 of that of propranolol, and the effect of blocking beta 2 receptors is 1/17-1/11 of that of propranolol. This product is slightly stronger in blocking beta 1 receptors than in blocking beta 2 receptors and beta 1 receptors. At equivalent doses, its heart rate slowing effect is milder than that of propranolol, and its antihypertensive effect occurs faster. The vasodilation caused by this product blocking alpha receptors is also involved in the antihypertensive and anti-anginal mechanisms. Compared with simple beta receptor blockers, this drug has a stronger antihypertensive effect during standing and exercise tests. In addition, it can increase renal blood flow, while propranolol reduces it.

Active ingredient: Labetalol hydrochloride.

This product is white or off-white tablets.

It is suitable for the treatment of mild to severe hypertension and angina pectoris; intravenous injection can treat hypertensive crisis. It is suitable for: 1. Mild to moderate hypertension. 2. Pregnant women with hypertension or preeclampsia. 3. Pheochromocytoma. 4. Rapid hypertension and hypertensive crisis. 5. Control of hypotension during general anesthesia.

Oral administration: The usual dosage is 100-200 mg each time, 2-3 times a day, taken after meals. In case of severe hypertension, the dosage can be increased to 400 mg each time, 3-4 times a day. The daily dosage should not exceed 2400 mg.

1. Common symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, hallucinations, gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea), dry mouth, and tingling in the scalp. 2. Overdose may also cause tachycardia and acute renal failure. 3. Children, pregnant women, and patients with asthma and cerebral hemorrhage should not use intravenous injection. 4. Patients with angina pectoris should not stop taking the drug suddenly. 5. Dizziness, itching, fatigue, nausea, chest tightness, and orthostatic hypotension may occur in a few patients.

Patients with cerebral hemorrhage, bradycardia, conduction block and bronchial asthma.

Precautions for children: The efficacy and safety of the drug for children are not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product can be safely and effectively used for pregnancy-induced hypertension, does not affect fetal growth and development, and the concentration in breast milk is 22-45% of that in maternal blood. Use with caution for nursing mothers. Precautions for the elderly: The bioavailability of this product is high for the elderly, so the dosage can be appropriately reduced.

The combination with tricyclic antidepressants can increase the incidence of tremor, and cimetidine can increase the bioavailability of this drug. Reference: Cimetidine, diuretics, and other antihypertensive drugs can enhance the effect of this product.
