Nikethamide Injection

This product selectively excites the medullary respiratory center, and can also act on the carotid body and aortic body chemoreceptors to reflexively excite the respiratory center, and increase the respiratory center's sensitivity to carbon dioxide, deepening and accelerating breathing. It has a weak excitatory effect on the vasomotor center. Excessive dosage can cause convulsions.

The main ingredient of this product is nikethamide, and its chemical name is: N,N-diethyl-3-pyridinecarboxamide.

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

Used for central respiratory depression and respiratory depression caused by various reasons.

The usual dosage for subcutaneous injection, intramuscular injection, and intravenous injection in adults is 0.25-0.5 g per time, and the dosage can be repeated every 1-2 hours if necessary. The maximum dosage is 1.25 g per time. The usual dosage for children under 6 months old is 75 mg per time, 0.125 g per time for 1 year old, and 0.175 g per time for 4-7 years old.

Common symptoms include facial irritation, restlessness, convulsions, nausea and vomiting. High doses may cause increased blood pressure, palpitations, sweating, facial flushing, vomiting, tremors, arrhythmias, convulsions, and even coma.

Patients with convulsions and seizures.

When used in combination with other central nervous system stimulants, it has a synergistic effect and can cause convulsions.
