Zinc sulfate oral solution

This product is a zinc supplement. Zinc participates in the synthesis and activation of multiple enzymes, and plays an important physiological role in the synthesis of proteins, nucleic acids, and the absorption and digestion of intestinal proteins. Zinc can promote growth and development, maintain normal appetite and taste by synthesizing taste hormones in taste buds and preventing incomplete keratinization of buccal mucosal epithelial cells, and enhance the level of free radicals in phagocytes. Free radicals can destroy the cell membrane of microorganisms, play a bactericidal role, and accelerate the healing of wounds, burns, and ulcers. Zinc plays an important role in the metabolism of vitamin A and vision, promotes and maintains sexual function, stabilizes cell membranes, improves tissue energy metabolism and tissue respiration, and zinc ions can precipitate proteins.

The main ingredient of this product is zinc sulfate.

This product is a light yellow or light yellow-green liquid with a sweet and slightly astringent taste.

It is used for anorexia, pica, anemia, growth retardation, nutritional dwarfism and acrodermatitis enteropathica caused by zinc deficiency; it can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, intermittent claudication, hepatolenticular degeneration (suitable for those who cannot use penicillamine), acne, chronic ulcers, conjunctivitis, mouth ulcers, etc.

Oral administration: 30 ml per day for children over 10 years old and adults, 20 ml per day for children aged 1 to 10 years old, 40 ml per day for pregnant women, and 50 ml per day for lactating women. Can be taken in divided doses.

This product is irritating to the gastrointestinal tract. Oral administration may cause mild nausea, vomiting, and constipation. Taking 0.2-2g may induce vomiting. Overdose may cause poisoning reactions such as acute gastroenteritis, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Occasionally, skin rashes, gastrointestinal bleeding, and intestinal perforation are rare.

It is contraindicated for patients with peptic ulcer.

This product is incompatible with aluminum, calcium, strontium salts, borax, carbonates and hydroxides (alkali), silver protein and tannic acid. The use of zinc salts and penicillamine together can weaken the effect of the latter.
