Function and Efficacy
Calcium ions are necessary to maintain the normal function of nerves, muscles and bones; they can promote the calcification of bones and teeth. It also plays an important role in maintaining normal heart, kidney, lung and coagulation functions, as well as cell and capillary permeability. In addition, calcium is also involved in regulating the secretion and storage of neurotransmitters and hormones, maintaining the normal excitability of nerves and muscles, as well as the intake and binding of amino acids, and the absorption of vitamin B12. Vitamin B1 forms thiamine pyrophosphate in the body, which is a necessary coenzyme for carbohydrate metabolism and can maintain the normal function of the heart, nerves and digestive system. Vitamin B1 can inhibit the activity of cholinesterase. When it is deficient, the activity of cholinesterase is enhanced, the hydrolysis of acetylcholine is accelerated, and nerve impulse conduction disorders are caused, affecting gastrointestinal and myocardial functions. Vitamin D2 promotes the absorption of calcium by the brush border of the small intestinal mucosa and the reabsorption of phosphorus by the renal tubules, increases the concentration of blood calcium and phosphorus, cooperates with parathyroid hormone and calcitonin, promotes the release of calcium phosphate from old bones, and maintains and regulates the normal concentration of plasma calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D2 promotes calcium deposition at the site of new bone formation, deposits citrate in the bone, promotes bone calcification and osteoblast function and bone-like tissue maturation. After vitamin D2 is ingested, it is catalyzed by the 25-hydroxylase system in the liver cell microsomes to produce calcifediol (25-OHD3), which is catalyzed by the 1-hydroxylase system in the renal proximal tubular cells to produce biologically active calcitriol [1-25-(OH)2D3].

Appearance
This product is light yellow tablets with aromatic odor and sweet taste.
Indication
Used to supplement calcium deficiency in children and adolescents in puberty.
Usage and Dosage
Oral: Children (1-10 years old): 1 tablet at a time, 3 times a day; Adolescents (11-18 years old): 2 tablets at a time, 3 times a day. Oral administration: buccal or chewed.
Adverse Reactions
1. Belching, constipation, and abdominal discomfort may occur. 2. Rare adverse reactions include hypercalcemia and kidney stones, which are more likely to occur when taken for a long time or in large doses or when suffering from renal impairment, and manifest as anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, arrhythmia, confusion, hypertension, and bone lime deposition. 3. Excessive intake of vitamin D in a short period of time or long-term use of large amounts of vitamin D can lead to serious poisoning reactions (for example, adults taking 200,000 to 600,000 units of vitamin D per day and children taking 200,000 to 400,000 units per day can cause serious toxic reactions over weeks or months). 4. Precautions
1. Contraindicated for patients with hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria. 2. Contraindicated for patients with calcium-containing kidney stones or a history of kidney stones. 3. Contraindicated for patients with sarcoidosis (which may aggravate hypercalcemia). 4. Contraindicated for patients with hypervitaminosis D. 5. Contraindicated for patients with hyperphosphatemia and renal rickets.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Infants who are fully breastfed are prone to vitamin D deficiency, especially infants of mothers with dark skin. Infants have great differences in sensitivity to vitamin D, and some infants are very sensitive to small doses of vitamin D. The product of serum calcium and phosphorus concentrations [Ca] × [P] (mg/dl) should not be greater than 58. Long-term use of 1800 units of vitamin D2 per day in children may cause growth stagnation. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women generally need to supplement calcium, but the usage and dosage should be in accordance with the doctor's advice. There are currently no animal and human experiments on the effects of calcium on the fetus. Pregnant and lactating women should use vitamin D preparations with caution. Pregnant women with hypercalcemia may be sensitive to vitamin D, and attention should be paid to dose adjustment. Functionally, it can inhibit parathyroid activity, resulting in special facial features, mental retardation and hereditary aortic arch stenosis in infants. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly people may have reduced secretion of active vitamin D, namely vitamin D3, and reduced intestinal absorption of calcium, so the oral dose should be increased accordingly.
