Pentotheline ammonium chloride syrup

The pentoxyverine citrate in this product has central and peripheral antitussive effects, and its antitussive strength is 1/3 of that of codeine. In addition to having a direct inhibitory effect on the respiratory center of the medulla oblongata, it also has a mild atropine-like effect, which can relax spasmodic bronchial smooth muscles and reduce airway resistance; ammonium chloride can reflexively increase the secretion of respiratory mucosal glands, thereby making sputum easier to discharge and facilitating the removal of sticky sputum.

This product is a compound preparation, containing 25 mg of pentoxyverine citrate and 300 mg of ammonium chloride per 10 ml. Excipients: sucrose, citric acid, menthol, benzoic acid, orange flavor, purified water, ethanol, sodium cyclamate, and sodium citric acid.

This product is a red or dark red clear viscous liquid with a fragrant aroma and a sweet, salty and bitter taste.

Used for cough and sputum caused by various reasons.

Oral administration. Adults: 10 ml each time, 3 to 4 times a day. Children: 2.5 to 5 ml each time, 2 to 3 times a day for children over 5 years old.

Occasionally, there may be constipation, mild headache, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea, abdominal distension, skin allergies and other reactions.
