Econazole nitrate spray

This product is an antifungal drug, which is effective against Candida albicans, Coccidioides, Cryptococcus neoformans, Histoplasma capsulatum, Blastomyces dermatitidis, and dermatophytes. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the synthesis of fungal cell membranes and affect their metabolic process.

This product contains econazole nitrate (C18H15Cl3N2O.HNO3) which should be 90.0% to 110.0% of the labeled amount.

This product is a colorless or slightly yellow clear liquid with an aromatic odor.

Used for the treatment of skin candidiasis; can also be used to treat tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, and tinea versicolor.

For topical use, spray on the affected area twice a day; for tinea versicolor, the course of treatment is 2 weeks; for other tinea and skin candidiasis, the course of treatment is 2 to 4 weeks.

A burning sensation may be seen, and occasionally allergic reactions such as itching and rash may occur.
