Oyster Calcium Carbonate Chewable Tablets
Function and Efficacy
Calcium is involved in the formation of bones and the reconstruction of bone tissue after fractures, maintains nerve conduction and muscle contraction, reduces the permeability of capillaries and maintains their normal osmotic pressure, and also participates in the coagulation mechanism and maintains the acid-base balance of the blood.
Ingredients
A calcium compound mainly composed of calcium carbonate and calcium hydroxide, which is obtained by high-temperature calcination and conversion of oyster shells.
Appearance
This product is a tablet with added coloring and flavoring agents.
Indication
Used to prevent and treat calcium deficiency diseases such as osteoporosis, tetany, bone dysplasia, rickets, and as calcium supplement for children, pregnant and lactating women, menopausal women, and the elderly.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration: 100-200 mg (calculated as calcium) at a time, 3 times a day, chew and swallow.
Adverse Reactions
1. Belching and constipation. 2. Occasionally, milk-alkali syndrome may occur, manifested as hypercalcemia, alkalosis and renal insufficiency. (Caused by taking milk and calcium carbonate, or calcium carbonate alone). 3. Long-term excessive intake may cause rebound increase in gastric acid secretion and may cause hypercalcemia.
Precautions
1. Patients with hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria and kidney stones are prohibited from using this product. 2. Patients who are allergic to this product are prohibited from using this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Refer to Precautions. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women generally need to supplement calcium, but should follow the doctor's advice. Precautions for the elderly: Refer to Precautions.
Drug Interactions
1. This product should not be used in combination with digitalis drugs. 2. Drinking a lot of alcoholic and caffeinated beverages and smoking a lot will inhibit the absorption of calcium. 3. Eating a lot of fiber-rich foods can inhibit calcium absorption, because calcium combines with cellulose to form compounds that are not easily absorbed. 4. This product is used with phenytoin sodium and tetracyclines, and the absorption of both is reduced. 5. Vitamin D, contraceptives, and estrogen can increase calcium absorption. 6. When aluminum-containing antacids are taken with this product, aluminum absorption increases. 7. When this product is used in combination with thiazide diuretics, hypercalcemia is likely to occur (due to increased renal tubular calcium reabsorption). 8. When this product is used in combination with potassium-containing drugs, attention should be paid to the occurrence of arrhythmias. 9.
