Usage and Dosage

This product can be swallowed directly with water, or put into milk or juice, stirred until suspended and then taken. Oral administration: 1. Adults take 0.5-1g at a time, 3-4 times a day; children take 50-100mg/kg per day according to body weight, divided into 3-4 times. 2. For the treatment of uncomplicated acute urinary tract infection, a single oral dose of 3g is sufficient, or another 3g dose can be increased after 10-12 hours. A single dose of 3g can also be used to prevent infective endocarditis or treat gonorrhea. The former is given 1 hour before oral surgery (such as tooth extraction), and the latter is often added with 1g of probenecid.

Adverse Reactions

Occasionally, there may be side effects such as rash, stomatitis, vomiting, and diarrhea, but these symptoms will disappear after stopping the medication.

Precautions

Contraindicated in patients allergic to penicillin.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Children should take 50-100 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, divided into 3-4 doses. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Animal reproduction studies have shown that amoxicillin at 10 times the human dose did not damage the fertility and fetuses of rats and mice. However, there are still insufficient controlled studies in humans. Given that animal reproduction studies cannot fully predict human reactions, pregnant women should use this product only when necessary. Since a small amount of amoxicillin can be secreted in breast milk, nursing mothers may experience allergies in their babies. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear
