Drug Interactions

Although no special studies have been conducted on drug interactions of this product, the possibility of additive or enhanced effects with central nervous system depressants (alcohol, barbiturates, opium preparations, sedatives or anesthetics) should be considered. Clinical studies have not found that this product has a significant effect on pulse or blood pressure, but since alpha receptor agonists can also slow the pulse or make blood pressure drugs and/or cardiotonic drugs, attention should also be paid. The literature reports that tricyclic antidepressants weaken the antihypertensive effect of systemic clonidine. Whether the simultaneous use of such drugs will interfere with the hypotensive effect of this product is not clear. There is no data on whether the use of this product affects the high level of catecholamines in the circulation. However, this product should be used with caution when patients take tricyclic antidepressants that can affect the metabolism or uptake of amines in the circulation.
