Ergotamine Caffeine Tablets

This product is a compound preparation, and its components are: each tablet contains 1 mg of ergotamine tartrate and 100 mg of anhydrous caffeine.

This product is a sugar-coated tablet or a double-layer tablet. The inner layer contains ergotamine tartrate and can be colored with a small amount of pigment; the outer layer contains caffeine and is white.

Oral administration: 1-2 tablets at a time. If ineffective, take 1-2 tablets again after 0.5-1 hour. The total amount per day for each attack should not exceed 6 tablets.

1. Common symptoms include: numbness and tingling in the hands, toes, and face, swelling of the feet and lower limbs (local edema), and myalgia; 2. Uncommon or rare symptoms include: anxiety or mental confusion (cerebral ischemia), hallucinations (vasospasm), chest pain, stomach pain, bloating, etc.

It is contraindicated for patients with active peptic ulcer disease, coronary heart disease, severe hypertension, hyperthyroidism, occlusive thromboangiitis obliterans, liver damage, renal damage, or allergy to the drug.

Precautions for children: Not clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Ergotamine has an induced labor effect and is contraindicated for pregnant women. Precautions for the elderly: Use with caution in the elderly as it may increase geriatric diseases.

This product has interactions with beta-blockers, macrolide antibiotics, vasoconstrictors and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5HT1) agonists, which should be taken seriously.
