Levodopa tablets

This product is a dopamine-like anti-Parkinson's disease drug. Levodopa is a precursor substance for synthesizing dopamine in the body. It has no pharmacological activity itself. It enters the central nervous system through the blood-brain barrier and is converted into dopamine by dopa decarboxylase to exert its pharmacological effects and improve the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Since this product can increase neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain, it can also improve the brain's tolerance to ammonia, and is used to treat hepatic coma, improve central nervous system function, make patients sober, and improve symptoms.

The main ingredient of this product is L-dopa, and its chemical name is: 3-hydroxy-L-tyrosine. Its structural formula is: C9H11NO4197.19

This product is white or off-white tablets.

Used for Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's syndrome.

Start with 250 mg orally, 2 to 4 times a day, after meals. Depending on the patient's tolerance, increase the dose every 3 to 7 days, ranging from 125 to 750 mg per day, until the best therapeutic effect is achieved. The maximum daily dose is 6 g, divided into 4 to 6 doses. The dose should be reduced for patients with post-encephalitis and the elderly.

Common adverse reactions include: nausea, vomiting, orthostatic hypotension, abnormal involuntary movements of the head, face, tongue, upper limbs and upper body, depression, and dysuria. Less common adverse reactions include: hypertension, arrhythmia, and hemolytic anemia.

It is contraindicated for patients with severe mental illness, severe arrhythmia, heart failure, glaucoma, peptic ulcer and history of convulsions. It should be used with caution in patients with bronchial asthma, emphysema and other severe lung diseases, severe cardiovascular diseases, organic encephalopathy, convulsions, diabetes, endocrine disorders, liver and kidney dysfunction. It is contraindicated for patients with mental illness. It should be contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women.

Precautions during pregnancy and lactation: This product can secrete human breast milk, but it can also reduce breast milk secretion; animal experiments show that this product can cause visceral and skeletal deformities. Pregnant and lactating women should not use it.

1. This product combined with non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors may cause acute adrenal crisis. 2. This product combined with papaverine or vitamin B6 may reduce the efficacy of this product. 3. This product combined with acetylspiramycin can significantly reduce the blood concentration of this product and weaken the efficacy. 4. This product combined with reserpine can inhibit the effect of this product and should be avoided. 5. This product combined with antipsychotic drugs should be avoided because the two antagonize each other. 6. This product combined with methyldopa can increase the adverse reactions of this product and enhance the antihypertensive effect of methyldopa.
