Function and Efficacy
The tincture of radix scutellariae contains radix scutellariae acid (about 0.8%), which has different degrees of antibacterial effect on many common pathogenic fungi. Salicylic acid has antibacterial and keratin-dissolving effects. Benzoic acid has antibacterial and antifungal effects. The combination of radix scutellariae tincture and salicylic acid is beneficial to inhibit and kill fungi parasitic deep in the skin. The combination of the three has a synergistic effect, making the treatment of dermatophytes more effective.
