Function and Efficacy

Vitamin B2 is converted into flavine mononucleotide (FMN) and flavine adenine dinucleotide (FAD), both of which are important coenzymes for tissue respiration. It can also activate vitamin B6, convert tryptophan into niacin, and may be related to maintaining the integrity of red blood cells.

Ingredients

Each tablet of this product contains 25 mg of vitamin B, the main ingredient. The auxiliary materials are starch, dextrin and magnesium stearate.

Appearance

This product is yellow to orange-yellow tablets.

Indication

1. Used to prevent and treat vitamin B2 deficiency such as angular cheilitis, chapped lips, glossitis, scrotitis, corneal vascularization, conjunctivitis, seborrheic dermatitis, etc. 2. Vitamin B2 should be supplemented in patients with total parenteral nutrition, malnutrition caused by insufficient intake, and progressive weight loss.

Usage and Dosage

Oral: 1. Adults: (1) Preventive dosage: Recommended daily dietary intake: 1.4-1.8 mg for male youth and adults, 1.2-1.3 mg for female youth and adults, 1.6 mg for pregnant women, and 1.7-1.8 mg for nursing mothers. The above recommended intake can be achieved through a normal diet. (2) Therapeutic dosage: For treatment of vitamin B2 deficiency: 5-10 mg once, 10-35 mg per day; after a few days, reduce to supplementary dietary intake, 1-4 mg per day. 2. Children: (1) Preventive dosage: Recommended daily dietary intake: 0.4-0.8 mg for infants and young children aged from birth to 3 years, 1.1 mg for children aged 4-6 years, and 1.2 mg for children aged 7-10 years. The above recommended intake can be achieved through a normal diet. (2) Therapeutic dosage: For treatment of vitamin B2 deficiency: 3-10 mg per day for children aged 12 years and above; after a few days, change to supplementary dietary intake, 0.6 mg for every 4 kilojoules (1 kcal) of calories.

Adverse Reactions

Water-soluble vitamin B2 is almost non-toxic under normal renal function. When taken in large quantities, urine will turn yellow.

Drug Interactions

1. Drinking alcohol (ethanol) affects the intestinal absorption of vitamin B2. 2. When taking phenothiazines, tricyclic antidepressants, probenecid and other drugs at the same time, the dosage of riboflavin needs to be increased. 3. It should not be used together with metoclopramide (Metoclopramide). 4. If you are taking other medicines, please consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
