Function and Efficacy
Ornidazole is a third-generation nitroimidazole antimicrobial drug. The main mechanism of action of Ornidazole is that the nitro group in its molecule is reduced to an amino group in an anaerobic environment or through the formation of free radicals, which interacts with cell components and causes the death of microorganisms.

Appearance
This product is off-white or slightly yellow tablets.
Indication
This product is suitable for infections caused by sensitive protozoa and anaerobic bacteria: 1. For male and female urogenital tract infections caused by Trichomonas; 2. For intestinal and hepatic amoebiasis (including amoebic dysentery and amoebic liver abscess) caused by amoeba; 3. For giardiasis; 4. For anaerobic infections: such as sepsis, meningitis, peritonitis, postoperative wound infection, postpartum sepsis, septic abortion, endometritis and other infections caused by sensitive bacteria; 5. For the prevention of various postoperative anaerobic infections.
Usage and Dosage
1-2 times/day; 1 capsule/1 time.
Adverse Reactions
1 Mild side effects such as drowsiness, headache, gastrointestinal discomfort (including nausea and vomiting) may be seen. 2 Some patients may experience central nervous system disorders such as headache, tremor, rigidity, epileptic seizures, ataxia, fatigue, dizziness, temporary loss of consciousness or peripheral neuropathy. 3 Taste disorders, abnormal liver function and skin reactions.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to this product or nitroimidazole drugs are contraindicated.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Reduce the dosage for children or follow the doctor's advice. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Animal experimental studies have shown that this product has no teratogenic or fetotoxic effects, however, no controlled studies have been conducted in pregnant women, so unless absolutely necessary, it should be avoided in early pregnancy or lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: No dosage adjustment is required.
Drug Interactions
1. Ornidazole can enhance the effect of coumarin oral anticoagulants, so when the two are used at the same time, the dose of the anticoagulant should be adjusted. 2. Ornidazole can prolong the muscle relaxant effect of vecuronium bromide, reduce its efficacy and affect coagulation. 3. Barbiturates, ranitidine, and cimetidine can accelerate the elimination of ornidazole, so they should be avoided when used together with ornidazole.
