Function and Efficacy

This product is a gastric acid neutralizing drug. It can neutralize or buffer gastric acid with a mild and long-lasting effect, but it has no direct inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion. This product reacts with gastric acid to produce carbon dioxide and calcium chloride. The former can cause belching, and the latter forms calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate in alkaline liquid to cause constipation.

Appearance

This product is a light red suspension.

Indication

Used to relieve upper abdominal pain, acid reflux, heartburn and upper abdominal discomfort caused by excessive gastric acid.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration: Adults: take 10-20 ml each time, 1 hour after meals, no more than 3 times a day.

Adverse Reactions

1. Occasionally, belching and constipation may occur. 2. Hypercalcemia or alkalosis may occur when taken in large doses. 3. Milk-alkali syndrome may occur occasionally, manifested as hypercalcemia, alkalosis and renal insufficiency. 4. Long-term use of this product in large amounts may cause a rebound increase in gastric acid secretion.

Precautions

1. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the ingredients of this product. 2. It is contraindicated for those with hypercalcemia.

Drug Interactions

1. This product should not be used in combination with digitalis drugs. 2. When this product is used in combination with thiazide diuretics, hypercalcemia is likely to occur (due to increased renal tubular calcium reabsorption). 3. When this product is used in combination with potassium-containing drugs, attention should be paid to the occurrence of arrhythmias. 4. Keep tightly closed in a cool, dark place.
