Function and Efficacy
This product is a H2 receptor blocker of the guanyl thiazole class, which has the characteristics of high affinity for H2 receptors, and has a significant inhibitory effect on gastric acid secretion, and has an inhibitory effect on basal secretion and the increase of gastric acid and pepsin caused by various stimuli. This product does not change the gastric emptying rate, does not interfere with pancreatic function, and has no adverse effects on the cardiovascular system and kidney function. This product is different from cimetidine, but it is similar to ranitidine, that is, long-term high-dose treatment does not cause adverse reactions of androgen antagonism such as male breast development, impotence, lack of sexual desire, and female breast pain, galactorrhea, etc. It has no teratogenic, carcinogenic, drug enzyme inhibitory and androgen inhibitory effects.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is famotidine. Its chemical name is 3-[[[2-[(diaminomethylene)amino]-4-thiazolyl]methyl]thio]-N-sulfamoylpropionamidine.

Appearance
This product is a colorless or slightly yellow clear liquid.
Indication
It is suitable for peptic ulcer (gastric and duodenal ulcer), acute gastric mucosal lesions, reflux esophagitis and gastrinoma.
Usage and Dosage
This product is used when gastric acid secretion must be reduced in patients with peptic ulcer complicated by upper gastrointestinal bleeding or gastric and duodenal mucosal erosion and bleeding, but oral administration is not suitable. This product is diluted with 250ml of 5% glucose and intravenously dripped for more than 30 minutes, or 20ml of normal saline is slowly injected intravenously (not less than 3 minutes). Twice a day (12 hours apart), the course of treatment is five days. Once the condition permits, intravenous medication should be quickly changed to oral administration.
Adverse Reactions
A small number of patients may experience dry mouth, dizziness, insomnia, constipation, diarrhea, rash, facial flushing, leukopenia, and occasionally mild transient increase in transaminase.
Precautions
It is contraindicated for people who are allergic to this product, those with severe renal insufficiency, and pregnant or lactating women.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: The safety of the drug for children has not been established, so it is not recommended for children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited. Precautions for the elderly: This drug is mainly excreted through the kidneys. Because elderly patients often have low renal function, the drug concentration in the blood will accumulate, so the dosage should be reduced or the dosing interval should be extended.
Drug Interactions
It has been reported that this product has a mild effect on the pharmacokinetics of theophylline, warfarin, diazepam and nifedipine; probenecid inhibits the excretion of famotidine from the renal tubules.
