Appearance

This product is a colorless clear liquid.

Indication

Chlorpheniramine maleate can treat allergic rhinitis: it is effective for nasal congestion caused by allergic rhinitis and upper respiratory tract infection, and can be used for colds or sinusitis; skin and mucous membrane allergies: it is effective for urticaria, hay fever, vasomotor rhinitis, and can relieve skin itching and edema caused by insect bites; it can also be used to control drug eruptions and contact dermatitis, but at the same time, allergenic drugs must be discontinued or contact must be avoided. When symptoms are acute and severe, injections can be used.

Usage and Dosage

Adults: intramuscular injection, 5-20 mg at a time.

Adverse Reactions

Drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dryness of the mouth, nose and throat, and thick sputum may cause local irritation at the injection site and transient hypotension, and rarely skin bruises and bleeding tendency.

Precautions

A small amount of chlorpheniramine can be excreted in breast milk; due to its anti-M cholinergic receptor effect, lactation may be inhibited and it is not suitable for breastfeeding women. It is not suitable for newborns and premature infants.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: Not suitable for newborns and premature infants. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Not suitable for lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: The elderly are more sensitive to the commonly used doses and should pay attention to appropriate reductions.

Drug Interactions

1. Drinking alcohol or taking central nervous system depressants at the same time can enhance the effect of antihistamines. 2. This product can enhance the effects of amantadine, anticholinergics, haloperidol, phenothiazines and sympathomimetic drugs. 3. When quinidine is used together with this product, its atropine-like effect is intensified. 4. When this product is used together with tricyclic antidepressants, it can enhance the efficacy of the latter.
