Kitasamycin Tablets
Function and Efficacy
This product is a macrolide antibiotic. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of erythromycin, and its antibacterial spectrum is also similar to that of erythromycin, but its antibacterial activity against most Gram-positive bacteria is slightly worse. Some erythromycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus are still sensitive to kitasamycin. This product also has considerable activity against diphtheria, tetani, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, pertussis, Rickettsia and Chlamydia trachomatis.

Appearance
This product is an enteric-coated tablet, which appears white or off-white after removing the coating.
Indication
It is mainly used for skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, streptococcal pharyngitis, scarlet fever, diphtheria, Legionnaires' disease, whooping cough, gonorrhea, non-gonococcal urethritis, acne, etc. caused by Gram-positive bacteria.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration: adults 1-1.6 g per day, divided into 3-4 doses.
Adverse Reactions
The incidence of gastrointestinal reactions of this product is lower than that of erythromycin, and rash and itching may occasionally occur.
Precautions
1. It should not be used by pregnant and lactating women; 2. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product; 3. It should be used with caution by those who are allergic to macrolide antibiotics or have liver dysfunction.
