Indication

This product is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) suitable for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and painful osteoarthritis (arthrosis, degenerative osteoarthritis).

Usage and Dosage

Rheumatoid arthritis: 15 mg per day, depending on the response after treatment, the dose can be reduced to 7.5 mg/day. Osteoarthritis: 7.5 mg/day, if necessary, the dose can be increased to 15 mg/day. For patients with increased adverse reactions: the initial dose of treatment is 7.5 mg/day. Patients with severe renal failure on dialysis: the dose should not exceed 7.5 mg/day. The dosage for children has not yet been determined, and it is currently limited to adult use. The maximum recommended daily dose is 15 mg, swallowed with water or liquid.

Frequency is between 0.1% and 1%: transient abnormal liver function indicators (such as elevated transaminase or bilirubin). Esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, latent or visible gastrointestinal bleeding. Frequency is less than 0.1%: gastrointestinal perforation, colitis. 2 Blood: Frequency exceeds 1%: anemia. Frequency is between 0.1% and 1%: blood cell count disorders, including white blood cell differential count, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia,

Precautions

It should not be used by patients who are allergic to this product, those with active peptic ulcers, severe liver dysfunction, those with severe renal dysfunction not on dialysis, patients who have symptoms such as asthma, nasal polyps, angioedema or urticaria after using acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, children and adolescents under 15 years old, and pregnant or lactating women.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: This product should not be used in children under 15 years old. Meloxicam is available in other formulations and may be suitable. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The lethal dose for the embryo in animal experiments of pregnant women is higher than the clinical dose; it is recommended not to take meloxicam in the first six months of pregnancy; in the last three months of pregnancy, all prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors will produce cardiopulmonary (pulmonary hypertension with premature closure of the ductus arteriosus) and renal toxicity to the fetus or inhibit uterine contraction. This effect on the uterus is associated with an increased chance of dystocia and delayed delivery in animals. Therefore, the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is absolutely prohibited in the last three months of pregnancy. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs enter the mother's milk during lactation. Therefore, lactating women should avoid using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Precautions for the elderly: Compared with young people, the average plasma clearance rate in the steady state of the elderly is slightly reduced. For elderly patients, the recommended dose for long-term treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis is 7.5 mg/day. Elderly patients are usually less tolerant to side effects and should be carefully examined.

Drug Interactions

1 Large doses of other NSAIDs including salicylates: The simultaneous use of more than one NSAID may increase the likelihood of gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding through synergistic effects. 2 Oral anticoagulants, ampicillin, systemic use of heparin, and thrombolytics may increase the likelihood of bleeding. If the above combination medications are unavoidable, the effects of anticoagulants must be closely monitored. 3 Lithium: NSAIDs have been reported to increase plasma concentrations of lithium. Therefore, it is recommended to monitor plasma lithium levels when starting, adjusting, and discontinuing this product. 4 Methotrexate: Similar to other NSAIDs, meloxicam can increase the blood toxicity of methotrexate. In this case, it is recommended to strictly monitor blood cell counts. <br/
