Solubility: easily soluble in water (25℃) and polar organic solvents. The solubility in oil is very low. At 23℃, only 0.5g is dissolved, and the oil/water partition coefficient is small.

    Application:

Bronopol as a bactericide, is widely used in industrial circulating water, paper pulp, paint, plastic, water treatment etc. In addition, it can be used to prevent cosmetic products from moldy and corrosion. Apply in shampoo, balsam, cream and other cosmetic, the concentration of cosmetics is 0.01%-0.02%.

It can also be used in detergent, fabric treatment agents etc. As a bactericidal, it can effectively control a variety of bacteria. Cotton seed treatment can prevent cotton black arm disease and bacterial dieback disease caused by cotton keratophakic and has no drug harm to cotton. It can also be used for rice evil seedling disease. The recommended concentration is 800 to 1000mg/L.

    Safety

Acute toxicity: LD50 is 222mg/Kg body weight (oral for females)-266mg/kg body weight (oral for males), there is no significant difference in the toxicity test between male and female mice, and it is moderately toxic in the toxicity class.

Test on the skin and mucous membranes: When the concentration of Bronopol is less than 0.5%, there is no irritation to the skin and mucous membranes. When 0.5% Bronopol dilution (10 times higher than the concentration used) was used to conduct a one-time irritation test on rabbit skin, the result was mild irritation.

     Preservative Performance

Minimum inhibitory concentration: Bronopol has a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic effect and can effectively inhibit most bacteria, especially Gram-negative bacteria. Its minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) is shown in the table below

    Bronopol Antibacterial Spectrum:

When there are organic substances, non-ionic, anionic and cationic surfactants in the product, they will not affect the bacteriostatic effect of Bronopol, and will not produce antagonistic effects with each other. In formulations with a protein content of less than 10% Bronopol is an excellent preservative.

    Precautions for use

Bronopol is suitable for use in cosmetics, such as creams, lotions, shampoos, etc. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum and remarkable antiseptic effect. At present, this product is widely used in European and American countries. Bronopol can be used in a wide range of pH, with the best acid to neutral range. It is unstable under high temperature and alkaline conditions, and darkens in color under sunlight. Bronopol can be compatible with most surfactants, but when it contains -SH group in cosmetic raw materials, such as cysteine, it will reduce the antibacterial activity of Bronopol. In addition, metal aluminum can also reduce the bacteriostatic activity of Bronopol.

    Recommended use rates:

Bronopol can be used in creams, lotions, shampoos and more. The general addition amount is 0.02-0.05%. The maximum allowable addition amount in daily chemical products is 0.1%, and there is no residue in the discharge, which will not cause cumulative pollution to the environment.

    Application PH value range: 4-10

Application temperature range: generally pre-dissolved in an appropriate amount of water and added below 60°C.

    Packing specification:

    25kg bag, 25kg cardboard drum

    Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place, shelf life is 12 months.
