Cnidium monnieri Extract Cindium Lactone/Osthole

Fructus Cnidii is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, which is the dried and mature fruit of Cnidium monnieri . The main active compounds in Fructus Cnidii are osthol and other coumarins. Fructus Cnidii was found to have anti-arrhythmia, anti-virus, anti-tumor and many other activities, widely used in the treatment of skin diseases, including vitiligo and psoriasis.  Cnidium monnieri  has strong adaptability and widely distributes in China

Osthole Physicochemical Property

Solubility: Osthole is soluble in methanol, ethanol, chloroform, acetone, ethyl acetate and boiling petroleum ether, but is insoluble in water and petroleum ether.

Osthole’s melting point is 83-84℃; boiling point is 347.2℃.

There is no decomposition in pH 5-9 solution.

Chemical properties are unstable. When exposed to light, Osthole is easy to be decomposed. It is light blue under ultraviolet light.

Application of Osthole :

1.Sterilization and relieving itching: Osthole can kill trichomonas vaginalis. It inhibits various fungi, and prevents gynecological diseases. Thus, it mostly used in gynecological wash and care products.

2. Used in biopesticides :

Osthole  can be applied to natural plant source pesticides. Studies have shown that sericin not only has a role in pests such as cabbage greenfly, cabbage moth, aphids and night moth egg masses, but also has a significant inhibitory effect on plant pathogenic fungi such as cucumber powdery mildew fungus, grape mildew fungus, chilli mildew fungus, and wheat erysipelas fungus.

3. Used in Skin care products :

A. used for the treatment of skin eczema and pruritus, such as infantile eczema, acute attacks of chronic eczema, sweat herpes vesicles, scrotal eczema, vulvar itching, scabies, dermatophytosis and so on. Skin with secretion oozing and itchy, can be used in the decoction of serpentine seed external wash.

Used in the treatment of vaginal trichomonas, there are vaginal trichomonas caused by vulvar itching, can be used with osthole  30g, alum 6g, or with perilla leaves 30g, decoction external wash; can also be used as a 10% osthole  liquid 500ml rinse, plus the use of osthole  vaginal suppositories, has a better effect

C. 

used for the treatment of kidney deficiency, impotence and other cases. It is mostly used internally with warm kidney and yang-boosting drugs such as Ba Ji Tian, Epimedium, and Cuscuta.
