Potassium Phosphate Monobasic

This product is colorless crystal or white crystalline powder or particle or lump; No odor.
This product is soluble in water and almost insoluble in ethanol.

Purpose:
Analytical reagents, pH buffers. It is used to prepare buffer solution, determine arsenic, antimony, phosphorus, aluminum and iron I preparation of phosphorus standard solution and various media for haploid breeding, determine the activity of inorganic phosphorus and alkaline acidase in serum, prepare the media for detecting leptospira in bacterial serum, etc. It is also used for the generation of optical harmonics in piezoelectric components, electro-optical components and lasers.

Preparation:
Phosphoric acid is added to the water and potassium hydroxide or potassium carbonate is added to it. Heat and filter to concentrate the filtrate to a relative density of 1.32. The crystals are cooled and filtered out to obtain potassium dihydrogen phosphate.

Handling and Storage

Precautions for safe handling

NO open flames. Handling in a well ventilated place. Wear suitable protective clothing. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Use non-sparking tools. Prevent fire caused by electrostatic discharge steam.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Dry. Well closed. Separated from food and feedstuffs and strong oxidants. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.

Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell

Skin contact: Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact :Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present

Ingestion ： Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell. Rinse mouth. Protection of first-aiders: A rescuer should wear personal protective equipment, such as rubber gloves and air tight goggles

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Recycle to process, if possible. Consult your local regional authorities. You may be able to dissolve or mix material with a combustible solvent and burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber system. Observe all federal, state and local regulations when disposing of the substance.
