    Product Overview

Zineb is a widely used broad-spectrum contact fungicide belonging to the dithiocarbamate group. It provides effective preventive action against a variety of fungal diseases in cereals, vegetables, fruits, and ornamentals. It acts by forming a protective barrier on plant surfaces, preventing fungal spores from germinating and penetrating plant tissues.

Due to its low systemic activity, Zineb is best used as a preventive spray, especially during early crop development stages or in conditions favorable to fungal growth.

    Key Benefits

    • Broad-spectrum activity against major fungal pathogens

    • Preventive protection with long-lasting surface coverage

    • Low risk of resistance development due to multi-site mode of action

    • Compatible with other fungicides and insecticides

    • Economical and effective disease control solution

    Mode of Action

Zineb works as a multi-site inhibitor, disrupting multiple enzymatic processes in fungal cells. It interferes with the metabolism of sulfur-containing amino acids, inhibiting spore germination and mycelial growth. As a contact fungicide, it remains on the plant surface, offering protection where fungi are likely to attack.

    Target Diseases and Crops

    Crop Diseases Controlled
    Grapes Downy mildew
    Tomatoes Early blight, late blight
    Potatoes Late blight
    Apples Scab, leaf spots
    Citrus Melanose, greasy spot
    Cucurbits Anthracnose, powdery mildew
    Ornamentals Leaf spots, rusts

    Application Guidelines

    • Application Method: Foliar spray

    • Dosage: 1.5 – 2.5 kg/ha depending on crop and disease pressure

    • Spray Interval: Every 7–10 days during disease-prone periods

    • Re-entry Interval (REI): 24 hours

    • Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI): 7–10 days (depending on crop)

Always follow label directions and local agricultural regulations for proper use.

    Compatibility

Zineb is compatible with most common insecticides and fungicides but should not be mixed with strongly alkaline substances. A compatibility test is recommended before tank-mixing with other products.

    Handling and Storage

    • Store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area

    • Keep out of reach of children and animals

    • Avoid exposure to moisture, direct sunlight, and heat

    • Use protective gear during handling and application

    Safety and Environmental Impact

    • Slightly toxic to humans and animals – use personal protective equipment (PPE)

    • Toxic to aquatic organisms – avoid contamination of water bodies

    • Do not apply when bees are actively foraging
