  • Description

Formic acid, also known as ant acid, is a basic small-molecule organic acid with applications spanning multiple fields, including industry, household chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and animal husbandry. In leather processing, it is used for tanning and depilation, breaking down the collagen on the leather surface, softening the hide, and enhancing the flexibility of the finished product; In the rubber industry, it serves as a coagulant for natural latex, rapidly flocculating the latex to facilitate molding and processing. In the textile printing and dyeing sector, it acts as a mordant and acid washing aid, removing impurities from fabrics to fix colors and stabilize dye adhesion. In the pharmaceutical sector, it is used to synthesize formate esters as intermediates for the production of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs; in the feed industry, formic acid is added to inhibit harmful bacteria in the intestines of livestock and poultry and to preserve feed ingredients. In chemical production, it serves as a catalyst in esterification and reduction reactions, and is also used for metal pickling and rust removal to eliminate oxide layers from the surfaces of steel and aluminum. Small quantities of high-purity formic acid are used as laboratory chemical reagents, while some food-grade formic acid is used in compliance with regulations for preservation. Overall, it is highly versatile, with the largest volume of industrial consumption, and plays multiple core roles in catalysis, pickling, and synthesis.

The product strictly complies with the GB/T 2961-2014 national standard, accompanied by a complete set of MSDS, commodity inspection reports, and hazardous packaging certificates, and meets EU REACH import and export requirements. Standard packaging includes 200 kg galvanized closed-top steel drums and 1,000 L IBC containers. For large volumes, bulk transport via tank containers is available. Storing and transporting the product in a sealed, light-protected environment effectively delays oxidation and discoloration. Supply is stable and ample, supporting full-container and consolidated shipments for international trade, and meeting global chemical procurement and custom fine chemical production needs.
