      Product Introduction

Polyvinyl Butyral (Abbreviation: PVB, CAS:9003-07-0, HS Code:3905300000), polymer molecular formula (C8H14O2)n. It is white flowing powder resin with good flexibility, strong adhesion to glass, metal, plastic. Soluble in ethanol, butanol, mixed alcohol solvents, insoluble in water. We supply multiple viscosity grades, classified into high/medium/low viscosity for safety glass film, anticorrosive paint, ceramic ink, electronic coating.

    Items Specifications
    Appearance White Free-flowing Powder
    Butyral Content 68–78 wt%
    Hydroxyl Content 18–24 wt%
    Moisture ≤0.30%
    Ash Content ≤0.10%
    Particle Size 80–200 mesh

    Applications
Automotive & Architectural Laminated Glass (Core Application)
The primary raw material for safety laminated glass interlayer film. After hot pressing, PVB tightly bonds two glass sheets. When glass breaks, fragments stick firmly to resin film, preventing splashing injury. Widely used in car windshields, building curtain wall glass, bulletproof glass, skylight glass.
Metal Anti-corrosion Primer & Industrial Coatings
Binder resin for metal rust-proof primer, aluminum paint, steel equipment anticorrosive coating. It forms dense coating film with outstanding adhesion on iron, aluminum, zinc alloy, blocks water and oxygen erosion, slows metal rusting; compatible with phenolic resin, epoxy resin for formula compounding.
Ceramic Decal & Printing Ink Industry
Key carrier resin for ceramic transfer decal ink, ceramic glaze printing ink. PVB dissolves evenly in alcohol solvents, guarantees smooth ink printing; burns cleanly without carbon residue during ceramic firing, ensures bright, complete glaze pattern without pinholes.
    Adhesive & Composite Industry
Special adhesive for bonding glass, metal, fabric and plastic film. Applied for aluminum-plastic composite materials, flexible packaging lamination, furniture veneer adhesive. It provides high peel strength and excellent low-temperature flexibility.
Electronic Insulation Enamel & Wire Coating
Insulation coating raw material for enameled wire, electronic component protection paint. The cured film has good dielectric property, solvent resistance and flexibility, protects circuit elements and winding wires from moisture and abrasion damage.
    Textile & Leather Finishing
Surface coating agent for high-grade fabric and leather. Improve fabric abrasion resistance and waterproof performance; increase leather surface smoothness and scratch resistance, used for luxury leather goods, waterproof outdoor textile finishing.

    Product Advantages
✅ Ultra-strong multi-substrate adhesion: Excellent bonding force on glass, all common metals and most plastics
✅ Flexible and impact-resistant resin film: Low temperature will not harden brittle, stable safety protection for laminated glass
✅ Clean burning property: No residual carbon after high-temperature calcination, perfectly fit ceramic firing process
✅ Full viscosity range options: High viscosity for glass film, medium/low viscosity for paint/ink easy dissolution
✅ Good solvent compatibility: Stable dissolution in alcohol mixed solvents, not easy to gel in paint production
✅ Stable batch consistency: Uniform particle size and hydroxyl value, repeatable formula effect for mass manufacturing

    Packaging & Storage
Standard packaging: 25kg PE lined kraft paper bags; 25kg sealed fiber drums for high-purity ink grade. Store in cool, dry, ventilated warehouse under 30℃, seal tightly to prevent moisture caking. Store separately from strong oxidants, strong acids. Shelf life: 24 months under sealed dry storage.
    Safety Information
Conventional general cargo for land, sea and air transportation. Resin powder may mildly irritate nasal cavity and eyes. Wear dust mask and rubber gloves during operation, avoid dust inhalation. Do not expose bulk powder to open fire, as accumulated dust carries slight dust explosion risk. In case of eye contact, rinse with abundant running water for 15 minutes. Complete MSDS, COA and REACH documents are available on request.
