      Product Detail

Sodium Ethanesulfonate, CAS 7488-56-4, also referred to as ethanesulfonic acid sodium salt, is a high-purity water-soluble alkane sulfonate fine chemical. It appears as white crystalline powder under normal ambient temperature and pressure, featuring excellent hydrophilicity and stable ionic structure. This product exhibits outstanding solubility in purified water without producing sediment under conventional working concentrations, making it a preferred auxiliary raw material widely adopted in electroplating industry and organic chemical synthesis worldwide.
Different from many common sulfonate additives, Sodium Ethanesulfonate is manufactured via standardized synthesis and recrystallization refining process. Strict purification procedures effectively reduce the content of heavy metal contaminants such as lead and iron, as well as water-insoluble impurities. Low impurity index greatly minimizes surface defects including pinholes, blemishes and uneven coating during electroplating production, which helps manufacturers enhance finished product yield and lower rejection rate.
Chemically, Sodium Ethanesulfonate possesses balanced acid and alkali resistance. It maintains stable performance within a broad pH range and will not easily decompose under regular electroplating operating temperatures. Adding this product into plating solution can significantly improve the electrical conductivity of the system. It acts as both high-efficiency conductive salt and auxiliary brightener, facilitating uniform metal ion deposition. The final metal coating gains better ductility, smoothness and corrosion resistance, effectively extending the service lifespan of electroplated components.
Apart from its dominant application in electroplating systems, Sodium Ethanesulfonate serves as a valuable organic synthetic intermediate. The stable sulfonate functional group provides reliable reaction sites for downstream derivative development. It can also be deployed as catalyst auxiliary agent in multiple fine chemical production routes to optimize reaction conditions and boost conversion efficiency.
It should be noted that Sodium Ethanesulfonate is hygroscopic. Long-term exposure to open air will cause moisture absorption and powder agglomeration, which will affect application performance. Therefore, sealed packaging and dry, ventilated warehouse storage are mandatory. Avoid direct contact with strong oxidizing substances during storage and transportation.
We supply industrial grade Sodium Ethanesulfonate with purity ≥98.0%. Each batch undergoes strict laboratory testing before delivery, and complete COA, SDS documents can be provided together with cargo. Standard packing adopts 25kg woven bag equipped with inner PE liner to prevent moisture invasion. Flexible packing solutions for laboratory small samples and bulk industrial orders are available to satisfy diverse demands from research institutes, electroplating factories and chemical manufacturers globally.
Our factory maintains stable continuous inventory and supports flexible order arrangement. Lab trial samples can be offered for customer formula verification, and sample cost can be deducted after formal bulk cooperation. If you have special requirements on impurity indicators, moisture content or customized specifications, welcome to send us detailed technical demands, we are capable of adjusting production indexes to match your production standards.
