DKP exists in two mainstream commercial forms:Dipotassium Phosphate Anhydrous and  Dipotassium Phosphate Trihydrate. They share the same core functional properties, differing in crystal water, physical characteristics and applicable scenarios.

Product Overview 

Dipotassium Phosphate (DKP) is a water-soluble potassium phosphate salt, supplied in anhydrous and trihydrate forms. It delivers dual core performance as a pH buffering agent and mineral fortifier.

It forms a stable weak alkaline buffer system in beverage and dairy formulations, stabilizing pH value to prevent protein precipitation and coagulation during high-temperature sterilization. Meanwhile, it provides potassium and phosphorus as nutritional electrolytes for functional drinks and nutritional beverages.

In dairy and creamer production, DKP acts as an emulsifying stabilizer to maintain uniform fat-protein dispersion and avoid phase separation. Anhydrous DKP features low hygroscopicity, ideal for dry powder premix products. Trihydrate DKP dissolves rapidly and is widely used in liquid beverage processing.

DKP also has mild metal sequestering properties to reduce oxidation and discoloration. It can be applied in selected industrial fields such as water treatment and fermentation media, and may be used in special feed formulations as a source of phosphorus and potassium minerals.

Dipotassium Phosphate is an odorless white crystalline solid, readily soluble in water to form weakly alkaline aqueous solution, and maintains stable properties under proper storage conditions.

Its unique advantage is the combination of pH buffering capacity and potassium-phosphorus mineral supplementation. Unlike strong alkaline phosphate TSP, DKP gently stabilizes pH without sharp pH elevation. Compared with TSPP which focuses on meat protein water retention, DKP is optimized for beverage and dairy systems.

Anhydrous DKP has low moisture absorption and is stable for long-term storage in powder formulations. Trihydrate DKP contains crystal water and dissolves quickly in aqueous processing. Both specifications meet international food additive safety requirements with low heavy metal and impurity content.
