Pyridine, 2-bromo-5-(chloromethyl)- (9CI) Use and Manufacturing

A solution of (6-bromopyridin-3-yl)methanol (1.000 g) in DCM (10 mL) was cooled to EtOAc. Ethylene was added dropwise thionylchloride (1.260 g) in remove the ice bath after the addition. Stir for 2 hours to allow the solution to naturally warm to room temperature.
