C.I. Disperse Orange 55 Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Using 2-chloro-4-nitroaniline, phenol, and m-cresol as raw materials, firstly diazotize 2-chloro-4-nitroaniline and couple with phenol, then reduce its nitro group, and then perform a second time Diazotization, and finally coupled with m-cresol to obtain the product. After filtering, grinding and drying, the finished product is obtained. . Add 280 mL of water and 30 mL of hydrochloric acid (30%) to the reactor, add 30 g of 2-chloro-4-nitroaniline (60%) with stirring, and beat the slurry at room temperature for 2-3 hours. After cooling down to 0-5℃, add 25mL sodium nitrite solution (30%) dropwise uniformly within 5-10min, and keep it for 3.5h. Filter, add 0.5 g of sulfamic acid to the filtrate to obtain diazonium liquid. Add 80 mL of water to the reactor, add 15 mL of liquid caustic soda (40%) under stirring, and after heating to 30-40°C, add 11 g of phenol (98%), and stir until all is dissolved. Then add 300mL water, 25g soda ash (98%), 1g diffusion agent NNO, and then reduce the temperature to 0℃. Add the above-mentioned diazonium solution evenly at 0-5°C (add it within 50-60min), and continue to stir for 1-2h. During the reaction, the pH must be maintained at 9-10. Get the coupling fluid. Add 108g of sodium sulfide solution (30%) to the coupling solution, slowly increase the temperature to 90°C within 1.5h, keep it for 7-7.5h, let stand for 15min, filter while hot, wash the filter cake with hot water, combine the filtrate and Wash the water, return to the reactor, slowly drop 30% hydrochloric acid under the protection of nitrogen, and adjust to pH=7. Filter to obtain a reduced product filter cake. Add 300mL water, 32mL hydrochloric acid (30%) and reduction product filter cake into the reactor, stir and beating for 3h, cool to 0-5℃, add 22mL sodium nitrite solution (30%) uniformly within 5min, keep warm for reaction 3- 4h. Filter, add 0.5 g of sulfamic acid to the filtrate to obtain the second diazotization liquid. Add 70mL water to the reactor, add 15mL liquid caustic soda (40%) and 12.6g m-cresol under stirring, stir for 10-15min, add 300mL water, 25g soda ash (98%) and 1g diffusing agent NNO, then cool to 0-5℃, slowly drip the above second diazotization solution within 50-80min, during which pH=9-10 should be maintained. After the addition, continue to react for 1.5h, then gradually increase the temperature to 85-90℃ and keep it for 1h. Then cool to 35-40°C, add 15% of the reaction solution volume to salt out, stir for 30min, continue to cool to 10°C, filter, wash the filter cake with saturated brine to neutrality, sand and dry to obtain the finished product.

Uses

Disperse Yellow SE-5R is mainly used for dyeing polyester and its blended fabrics. The use of RG-FL (CIDisperse Yellow 23) is prohibited. This product has been valued as its main substitute for dyes, and its application has become increasingly widespread.
