Methods of Manufacturing

Put equal moles of dimethyl octadecylamine and sodium 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropanesulfonate into the reaction kettle in turn, add 78% ethanol, stir and heat to reflux for 3 h. After the reaction is completed, cool down to 40°C, and adjust the pH to 9 by adding sodium carbonate aqueous solution. The unreacted tertiary amine is extracted with petroleum ether, the oil layer is separated, and the tertiary amine is recovered after the petroleum ether is evaporated. The alcohol-water layer is put into a distillation kettle, ethanol and water are distilled out, the high-boiling substances are left in the kettle, recrystallized with anhydrous alcohol, filtered while hot, the filtrate is placed in a crystallization kettle for cooling and crystallization, and the product is vacuum dried. Add dimethyl octadecylamine into the reaction kettle, then add absolute ethanol, stir to dissolve and add vinyl chloride [dimethyl octadecylamine: vinyl chloride = 1: 1.5 (mol)]. Mix and stir, heat to reflux for about 14 hours, and distill the unreacted vinyl chloride and ethanol azeotropically, and then add sodium bisulfite aqueous solution and a catalyst amount of tert-butyl peroxybenzoate to the residue. Reflux for 7 h under the protection of nitrogen, distill the azeotrope of solvent and water, stop distillation when the gas phase temperature rises to 80 ℃, add a part of absolute ethanol, filter while hot to remove alcohol insolubles, concentrate the filtrate, cool and crystallize , Filter and dry to get the finished product.

Uses

This product is used as foam promoter and stabilizer, conditioner and viscosity synergist of skin care products.
