(i) tert-Butyl (4-((2-((3-carbamoyl-5-methoxyphenyl)amino)pyridin-4-yl)oxy)naphthalen-1-yl)carbamatePd2(dba)3(15 mg, 0.016 mmol) was added to a degassed suspension of tert-butyl (4-((2- chloropyridin-4-yl)oxy)naphthalen-1-yl)carbamate (see Example 2(ii) above; 130 mg, 0.351 mmol), General procedure: 3-aminobenzamide (50 mg, 0.37 mmol) and maleic anhydride (43.2 mg, 0.44 mmol) were dissolved in dry THF (1 ml) and stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The precipitate was filtered off and dried in vacuo to give 2 (71 mg, 83%).
