α-Butyl-4-chloro-α-(chloromethyl)benzeneacetonitrile Use and Manufacturing
The preparation method is to add 2-(4-chlorophenyl)capronitrile, NaOH aqueous solution and catalyst into the reaction kettle, slowly add a slight excess of dichloromethane at a certain temperature, and then add dichloromethane at this temperature. Stir the reaction for 3 to 4 hours. After the reaction is completed, the mixture is allowed to stand for layers, and the alkaline aqueous solution is separated. The organic layer is washed with water, and then distilled to recover dichloromethane and dehydrated. The residue is the product, and the product can also be purified by distillation under reduced pressure.
In the production of fungicides myclobutanil and imidacloprid, 1-bromo-2-cyano-2-(4-chlorophenyl)hexane was used as an intermediate, but 1-chloro-2-cyano-2 is now used -(4-chlorophenyl)hexane is an intermediate, which can reduce the cost of raw materials for production.
Benzeneacetonitrile, .alpha.-butyl-4-chloro-.alpha.-(chloromethyl)-: ACTIVE|PMN - indicates a commenced PMN (Pre-Manufacture Notices) substance.
