Mitolactol Use and Manufacturing
Dibromomannitol is obtained by the reaction of D-mannitol and hydrobromic acid. The mannose was dissolved in hydrobromic acid and heated to reflux for 3h. Add water to dilute and cool to 52°C, add activated carbon to decolorize. Filter, cool the filtrate to 20°C, adjust the pH to 1-2 with sodium bicarbonate while stirring, freeze and then spin, wash with water, wash with chloroform, vacuum dry, recrystallize with methanol, decolorize and refine with activated carbon to obtain the finished product. The yield is about 36%.
This product is an anti-tumor drug. Rat oral LD50 is 1400mg/kg.
